Thing 12

I love my weather widget. This was a lot easier than I expected thanks to the help I received from my colleauge Laurie Zurawaski. I would like to explore more widgets and see what is available out there.

Thing 11

I really liked looking at what other people were doing. It forced me to see what is going on with others. I found out that I am on track with what some people are doing. I also found out some great ideas that others came up with. It allowed me to take some time and learn some really cool things going on with my colleagues. This was a great learning experience! I will have to take more time to look at what is going on with everyone I work with.

Thing 10

Division Rap These videos are useful to use in my classroom. I love all the rap videos and the kids love watching them. They offer a nice variety to the kids in math class. They are also catchy raps that the kids continue to sing all day long. It is important that they see alternate ways of learning things from other people and other schools. It also gives them ideas on how to learn things in a different way. I downloaded this video using Keepvid. I am hopeful to continue to use these videos with my students on a regular basis.

Thing 9

I have used YouTube in my classroom for different reasons.  I like to find video clips to show students different things going on in other classrooms.  Sometimes other students and teachers have great ways of showing math concepts that I don't ever think of. The kids also like to see what other teachers and students are doing in different schools.
I find myself using TeacherTube more than YouTube because I always want to make sure that what I am looking up is kid friendly and I don't have any strange pop ups coming up.

The motivational poster creation would be very useful in the classroom. I could use this tool to create bulletin boards related to each topic I teach.  This would be easy to use in the classroom and relate it to each topic we explore.
My students could even use this when we work on math projects.  If we were studying geometry they could take take pictures of geometric objects outside of school.   We could use the pictures to create some of the motivational posters  showing how math is all around us all the time.  I think my students would enjoy this tool.

thing 3

I could use blogging in my classroom several ways.  It would be an area for students to see math related pictures and videos which relate to my classroom.  I could also have available all assignments and activities for students to access when they lose items.  They could also talk to me or other students about problems they may have in class.
